RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the assessment findings described above in point 3, Navya Clinic recommends the Ever Vision School management consider the following:

  • Integrate ‘Brushing Techniques’ in teaching and learning activities targeting toddlers with the active participation of parents.
  • Organize an annual ‘Deworming program’ especially for students in grade 1 to grade V.
Students in these grades had symptoms of non-specific pain abdomen. Navya Clinic strongly recommends doing a routine stool examination.
  • Collaborate with the government to provide free weekly ‘Iron and folic acid’ supplements to girls aged 10 to18 years.
  • Organize quarterly ‘nutritional sessions’ for students targeting parents.
  • Organize regular sports activities like football, basketball, volleyball, or track games to encourage physical exercise among students in grades VI to grade X.
Navya Clinic observed that the body mass index of students in those grades is on the higher side. Navya Clinic further recommends healthy food options in the school canteen.
  • Arrange vaccination for the students who missed their Covid-19 vaccine.
  • Establish a health club in the school with active participation from teachers and students providing materials like:
  • Book, magazine, and pamphlets with health information
  • First Aid Box containing Handiplast, Cotton, Guaze, Dettol, Scissor, Paper Tape, betadine, Silver Sulfadiazine Ointment, sanitizer, thermometer, etc.
  • Sanitary Pad for Menstruating girls
  • Free medicine provided by Government (Paracetamol, Zinc, ORS, Ranitidine, hyoscine, metoclopramide, calamine lotion)
  • Reproductive education especially for students aged 10 to 18 years
  • Small workshop for handwashing technique, brushing technique, etc
